What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser when you visit. On your next visit, the browser sends the cookie back to the server so it can recognise you and remember certain information.
Cookies can be first-party (set by the website you are on) or third-party (set by external services embedded on the page). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period).
Cookies we use
This website sets exactly one cookie. It is set only when you sign in to My Account or the Admin Panel:
That's it. We do not set any analytics cookies, advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, A/B testing cookies, or any third-party cookies of any kind on our own domain.
Consent & legal basis ePrivacy Recital 25
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (as transposed in Italian law, D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended) and confirmed by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante), strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent.
The sid cookie is strictly necessary for the authenticated areas of this site to function. It is the technical mechanism that maintains your login session. Without it, you cannot remain signed in. For this reason:
- No opt-in consent banner is required or shown for this cookie
- The cookie notice on our website is provided as a transparency measure, not a consent mechanism
- You cannot opt out of this cookie while retaining the ability to log in
Garante reference: Provvedimento generale dell'8 maggio 2014 and subsequent guidelines confirm that session cookies used solely for authentication fall within the strictly necessary exemption and are not subject to the consent requirement.
Stripe checkout
When you click "Proceed to Secure Payment" you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page on a different domain (checkout.stripe.com). While on that page, Stripe may set its own cookies governed by the Stripe Cookie Policy.
StructAuto has no control over, and does not receive, any cookies set by Stripe on their domain.
How to manage cookies
You can view, delete, or block cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking the sid session cookie will prevent you from logging in to My Account.
